Michael Anthony Brown was born August 4th, 1978 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA (Bay View Neighborhood). Michael was raised from age one in Brookfield, Wisconsin, USA.
His high school days were spent at Brookfield Central High School, in Brookfield, Wisconsin. It was there where his love for film was discovered. Because of films from the 80’s and mid 90’s, he fell in love with film. He daydreamed of pursuing a career in film; it was always his secret inner passion. In 1996, Michael was accepted admission into the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s film program. He did attend but did not obtain enough credits to graduate. Money was the main issue. Instead he chose a career in radio broadcasting (at his favorite childhood radio station 94.5 WKTI-Milwaukee). After a five year radio career and working as a marketing consultant, Michael decided to go for his dream to create documentaries that entertain but also educate.
Michael starred and directed Haunted State: Whispers from History Past (2014) as his first documentary; which he is also Executive Producer. The film became a 2015 Official Selection at the Weyauwega Film Festival and a 2016 Official Selection at the Green Bay Film festival. His most recent film Roller Life (2016) is about the Brewcity Bruisers: Milwaukee’s Roller Derby Girls life on and off the flat track. The world premiere was in Milwaukee on October 19th, 2016 at the historic Oriental Theatre.
Michael is proud to be from Wisconsin. He is passionate about the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Brewers, Wisconsin Badgers and Milwaukee Bucks. He’s a single father (never married) and lives in Appleton, Wisconsin with his 11 year old son, Noah, who is his inspiration for everything.
